Leave from the Maison Mère hotel in Paris 9e
The Maison Rose, the Moulin de la Galette, the Place du Tertre or the Je t'aime wall, if you've already been around Montmartre a thousand times, we'll take you to our favorite hidden and lesser-known places. Start your journey at 7 rue Mayran, the address of our 4* hotel in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. If you're looking for a hotel close to Montmartre, you've come to the right place, we're a 15 minutes walk away. Pass by the inevitable Rue des Martyrs. Admire the beautiful shop windows of these unusual food shops. This street was so named because it leads to the village of Montmartre, where, according to a very old legend, Saint Denis, the first bishop of Paris, and his companions suffered the martyrdom of beheading. You will then arrive at the Place Pigalle, famous for being the crossroads between the sultry Pigalle district with its neon lights, strip clubs and other sex shops and the Montmartre district, a major tourist attraction in Paris.
First stop when you arrive in Montmartre: the vineyards! Called Le Clos-Montmartre, rue des Saules, splendid vineyards await you. Every Saturday, it is possible to visit them accompanied by a guide and taste the wine made there. The Villa Léandre is also less well known to tourists and is located in Allée des brouillards. You wouldn't think it was a former shanty town today, as the place is so exotic. Take a moment to breathe in this quiet and colorful alley. Before going back down, pass in front of the bust of Dalida on rue de l'Abreuvoir and touch her chest, it is said to bring good luck... And if, like us, you are a fan of our friends the dogs, you should know that a huge park is dedicated to them just below the Sacré Coeur, you can both walk your pet and enjoy a superb view of Paris!
